Need a gentle guide to using GitHub to program my Raspberry Pi.
I know that this is too noob but I cant just figure it out. I would like to install sublime text 3 on my raspberry-pi however as I click on the sublime dmg file that I.
So, I've moved past absolute Pi Noob, as I've made a really cool photo booth, a standalone webcam, and the start of an internet radio. But, I know there are easier ways to program my RPi than what I currently do.
Two methods I use right now:
- I keep a USB keyboard/mouse and an HDMI monitor plugged in and work on it directly.
- I setup VNC and remote in from another local machine.
I have a new project I'm about to get started on (for a halloween costume), and I figure I should learn how to use GitHub by now. I'm sure there's a way I can make a repository and sync it to my RPi, so that I can update code from the web browser, reboot it, and test it.
Am I right? Can I do that?

I'm assuming that, even if I set it up as described, I'll need to first configure the RPi to run my script on boot, and then the script can just be kept in sync with GitHub (which I can then edit in my IDE of choice)?
I've done a bit of googling, and even searched the subreddit, but haven't seen an obvious answer.
Help?
EDIT: The additional requirement I should have stated was that I'd like to be able to edit my script while I'm at work during the day (away from my Pi), and then test it when I get back home.
